The Bayard Buzz!
My pal, Julia, put my 4.24 show date in an online news(paper). I guess that’s the best way to describe the medium. She’s been publishing this semi-weekly to keep a really great circle of friends clued in to happenings, random facts, art, sports, music and tons of other subjects. I applaud her devotion to the awesome site that is The Bayard Buzz. Check it out!

I posted a little while ago about the new music player on my site that allows you to purchase my music. The sample function wasn’t working correctly for a while there but it has been fixed!
Click “music” in the navigation box to the right.

I was going through some old photos and I found this gem. I used to listen to the Peter Pan soundtrack all the time. I’m pretty sure Mary Martin was my idol.

I added a new feature to my Music page! Not only can you listen to my demo, but now you can buy the songs for keeps. Click the “Music” link to check it out.
And for those of you who still buy cds, (does anyone besides me and Lauren still do that?) just send me an email and I can mail you a demo. saraoreilly@gmail.com

Buzz, your girlfriend, WOOF.
‘Tis the holiday season so I thought I’d drop a line. I’ll be frantically writing Xmas cards tonight. They’re a little late this year but well worth the wait. All I tell you is that they involve feathers. We’ll just leave it at that.
And now, down to business…
As you can see, my show dates are none. This is partially due to the fact that one of the bars I frequent, cancelled the program I performed at. Reason being that patrons decided they liked having a cover charge rather than free music. Go figure.
As for the new song I was working on, well, I will bring my guitar to NJ when I go on vacation. I will have the time to finish it then. Please hold me to this! Please yell at me about it! Anyone! Please.
xoxo,
sara

My friend Jay Snyder and his art are getting some buzz in the UK. Keep Calm picked up one of his screen prints to sell in pounds!
Shows and a new song?
My summer playing at the Bank of America Pavilion has come to a close since it’s open air and their season is over so it’s back to the bars for me. I’m going to book a few shows for the next couple of months so please check back and come out if you can. If any of you hear of or are hosting any unique opportunities, let me know if you’d like me to play. I’m all about expanding my venue horizons this winter.
And I’d also like to announce that I’m working on a new song in my (precious few moments of) spare time. I’ll definitely post it as soon as I’m satisfied but be prepared. It’s coming. I’m so excited. And I just can’t hide it.
(anyone remember the episode of Saved By The Bell when Jessie is taking speed to study and she sings that song? Why am I thinking about that? Good ol No Doz.)
Rogue Wave
Have any of you bought the newest Rogue Wave album, Asleep At Heaven’s Gate? They make really gorgeous music (ie “Lake Michigan or Lullaby”) and I find this new album (and Descended Like Vultures) the kind that you can listen to all the way through without getting bored with any particular track. Amazing feat #1.
Amazing feat #2 = the lyrics. There is an unwritten list in my brain that has all the words I won’t write into a song because I know I won’t be taken seriously if someone hears it. How does Zach Rogue completely ignore my list and pull it off so well? He makes the phrase “you little shit” sound like gold and smooth butter. I can’t even handle it. But I love it at the same time. I do.
I think I could go on and on more in depth with the lyrics and production and instrumentation but I might put you to sleep while I dork out over here. Plus, me continuing to type only keeps you from going to get this album. So go!
And don’t steal it if you can help it. Filthy music internet pirates…
